The Atlanta Children’s Film Festival is two weeks of fun and educational activities, including film screenings and workshops for children, teens, families and industry professionals. Showcasing films produced by youth and adult independent filmmakers from around the world, the festival promotes positive, educational and entertaining children and family-oriented programming.

Students will work together to write and produce a short film. ($269 for the week.) Limit 20 Students. Scholarships will be available for underserved youth.
Intro to Filmmaking (Session 1 – Production Process)
Students will learn the production process from pre-production to post-production. They will be taught how to operate camera and other equipment.
Intro to Filmmaking (Session 2 – Script Writing)
Students will learn how to write a short film script and begin writing a script for a short film.
Intro to Filmmaking (Session 3 – Script Writing)
Students will work together on writing teams and complete writing script for short film.
Intro to Filmmaking (Session 4– Acting)
Students, will learn about acting on a movie set. In this workshop, students will be introduced to the world of acting through fun learning acting techniques and begin to rehearse for short film.
Intro to Filmmaking (Session 5 – Rehearsal)
Students will rehearse with director and practice using equipment.
Intro to Filmmaking (Session 6 – Production – Shoot Film)
Students will work with professional production team and shoot film.

This engaging session will be conducted online via Zoom, providing convenient access to expert advice from the comfort of your own home. Intro to Animation Workshop (Online)
In this workshop, students will learn the basic concepts of creating animation from Allyssa Lewis, Emmy-award winning animator. During the workshop students will create a short animated project and learn about timing, staging, storytelling and tweening.

Acting & Casting Workshop with Kelly Young-Silvia, Acting Instructor – Word In Motion.
Interested in becoming a professional actor? Discover how with renowned acting instructor Kelly Young-Silvia. Some of her students have starred in major films like Coming to America II and Aretha. This workshop offers youth an introduction to the acting industry. Participants will learn and practice audition techniques, receive constructive feedback on their performances, and even have the chance to audition for a new children’s show.
The producer of an upcoming children’s show to be filmed in Atlanta is specifically seeking teens aged 13 to 17.
