Video Production I - Lights, Camera, Action!
In this workshop children (ages 7 -12) will be introduced to media literacy and video production through the experiential learning process. The students will learn the basic procedures of creating a video project as they work on their own Autobiography Video Project. Class sessions will include lectures and hands-on learning activities. Students will learn the different parts of the camera and practice using the camera.
Video Production II - Moving Forward!
In this workshop children (ages 7 -12) will be learn how to do scholarly research to obtain information and produce a short video biography of a “living legend” through the experiential learning process. Class sessions will include lectures and time will be allotted to do research.
Video Production III - International Video Project: Building Bridges
In this workshop students will learn about different cultures and work on production teams. They will produce a video letter to send to a child in another country. Class sessions will include lectures, research, writing, video equipment training and introduction to editing.
Video Production for Teens I - Roll Tape!
In this eye-opening workshop teenagers will be introduced to the media literacy and video production. Class sessions will include lectures, interviews, writing and video equipment training. Students will produce an Autobiography Video Project or interview a person who has influenced them or a “living legend” in their community. Also, students will learn about careers in T.V. and film. Video Production for Teens II - Keep the Tape Rolling!
In this hands-on workshop teenagers will be introduced to the art of communications and learn the importance of pre-production. Class sessions will include lectures, interviews, writing and video equipment training. Under the supervision of a professional producer, students will work together and produce segments for the show Teen Today. This show was created to inform teenagers about positive programs, people and places in metro Atlanta. This workshop was started with support and funding in part from Georgia Council for the Arts.
Video Production for Teens III - Take Action: Social Issues
In this workshop teenagers explore different social issues. They work together on production teams to produce a Public Service Announcement (PSA) about a social issue in their community. Class sessions will include lectures, research, interviews, writing, video equipment training and introduction to editing.
Editing I - It's a Wrap!
In this creative workshop students will learn the fundamentals of editing. They will practice the basic concepts of editing as they learn how to edit on Apples I-Movie software.
Public Speaking - Speak Up!
In this workshop students will be introduce to the art of public speaking. Participates will learn effective communications skills as they write and present three speeches.
