Six Week Video Production Workshop for Children

Media Literacy and Video Production I – Lights, Camera, Action

In this workshop students will be introduced to media literacy and video production through project-based learning. The students will learn the basic procedures of creating a video as they work on their individual video project. Under the supervision of a professional producer, students will write and produce their own Autobiography Project; this video will be a priceless keepsake to share with family and friends. Class sessions will include lectures, interviews and hands-on learning activities. Students will learn how to operate video camera.

Date: Saturdays, January 26 - March 2, 2019

Morning Session: 9:30 a.m. to 12: 30 p.m. (Ages 7 - 12)

Afternoon Session: 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Ages 13 - 17)

Price with Scholarship: $175

Due to support and funding from the DeKalb Entertainment Commission and Emory University Film & Media Studies Department, we have scholarships and now all students have the opportunity to take the workshop for only $175.

Special Event at the DeKalb County Public Library

Kids Video Connection will conduct the Intro to Media Literacy & Video Production Workshop for children ages 13 – 17 years, on Saturday, January 12, 2019, 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. at the Tucker-Reid H. Cofer Library located at 5234 LaVista Road, Tucker, GA 30084.  In this workshop participants will be introduced to media literacy concepts. Students will learn how to write a script and operate a video camera. This workshop is free and open to the first 20 participants. Please visit the library or call (770) 270-8234 to register.
