Upcoming Events:

Kids Video Connection Children’s Film Festival promotes positive, educational, and entertaining programs for children and teens. This festival is two weeks of exciting and educational activities which include film screenings and video production workshops. Since we started the festival, it has been a great success!   KVC was awarded DeKalb County Arts Visionary Award for starting the festival and creating innovative art programs to teach youth.

Opening Day Celebration: Kids Video Connection Children's Film Festival kicks-off on Thursday, June 7th,  10:30 a.m. - 12 noon at the Tucker-Reid H. Cofer Library. This year's guest speaker will be Allyssa Lewis, Emmy-Award winning animator and founder of My Animation Life. Lewis will share her life’s journey on becoming an award-winning animator and present an engaging animation demo with voice acting for children ages 7-11. This free event is a hands-on activity, so space is limited to 40 children.

There will be a special showcase of short films and videos produced by teens from 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Come meet these young writers, producers and directors and learn how they created their projects. This free film screening is open to children of all ages, summer camps, and families; seating capacity is 80.

Film Festival Family Day: This fun and educational event is for the whole family. The Film Festival Family Day will be on Saturday, June 9th, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Decatur Recreational Center. We will have workshops for children, teens, parents, independent producers and animators.
